Yes it is plated copper.
I was concerned about a reviewer's comment that this isn't copper wire so I investigated and found that it is copper . I also posted a comment about that on the review but couldn't post the proof photo there. Heating a sample in a blue flame, I saw a brief green flame from the wire. Due to its brevity, I wasn't convinced, but looking at the remains of the sample, shiny copper can clearly be seen where the tin has melted away. With its 600V rating, 200C insulation, easy solderability and flexibility, I'm very impressed with this wire.

Flexible, durable, good for low-voltage power cables and speaker cables
Highly recommended for low-voltage power cables for portable equipment. I use it for 12-volt cords for astronomical equipment. It is much more flexible than ordinary lamp cord. Also, soldering is easy because the insulation is heat-resistant and the wire takes solder easily. Note that the wire consists of more strands of thinner wire than ordinary 18-gauge lamp cord. This would also be fine speaker wire, especially for speakers that are moved around frequently (portable PA setups and the like). Contrary to another review, it is definitely copper, not aluminum, as shown by looking at it under a microscope. It takes solder easily, which aluminum does not.

Feels like Twizzlers Pull-N-Peel's!
When they say this wire is flexible, they aren't lying. It's very, very soft. Have you ever had Twizzlers Pull-N-Peel licorice? I felt like I was pulling a single strand of that stuff as I tried to fish this wire through a tight rubber grommet in my truck. I was afraid I was going to break it. If you need wire that must stand up to any abuse, this probably isn't the right choice. However, if your runs are going to be protected inside a case or behind vehicle trim, this will do just fine.

Should work but not as expected
The wire is very flexible and should work fine. I marked it down because the red and black wires are completely separate from each other and this was not made clear in the description. I was expecting a single two conductor wire not two one conductor wires. The title and description are worded so that it could be taken either way.
